The timing seemed perfect. It was on the first day of spring, and Scott Strickland was invited to do a pop-up performance on behalf of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (HAAM), in partnership with Kendra Scott. People paused at the street corner where Strickland was playing to take in the show, while other folks in the neighborhood began to watch from their apartment windows, or from rooftops. No one was expecting the live music – which made it all the more special.
Strickland is the next featured artist on The Long Center’s Good Vibes Only streaming series, in which he’ll perform new material from his forthcoming album set for release this fall. The free show starts at 8 p.m. (Central) tomorrow, Wednesday April 7, on Luck Stream.
