This is the stuff that classics are made of. Clairy Browne & The Bangin’ Rackettes take on rock ‘n’ roll from a different era, back to the basics stylistically. Yet they add that extra amount of sizzle, that extra dash of sass, that pushes things a bit beyond a mere revival. Give a listen to Baby Caught the Bus and soak in all the smokin’ soul and R&B vibes ushered in by ’50s and ’60s Daptone records back in the day, all straight up rock grooves, but there’s a contemporary sultriness that reminds you this is music from here and now. Va-va VOOM.
