You heard your Austin Music Minute hostess with the mostess loud and clear on today’s AMM: “Buy the ticket, take the ride.”
It’s what we like to call adventure time with Fear and Loathing in Hotel Vegas 7, the annual brouhaha celebrating the wild, wild world of journalist and author Hunter S. Thompson on this day, his birthday, at East Side venue Hotel Vegas, 1501 E. 6th St. Of course, the celebration wouldn’t be complete without live music at the party, and that includes sets by Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band (the heavy jam featured on today’s AMM), Kay Odyssey, The Rotten Mangos, and Hard Dwell.
There’ll be pop-up shops galore, and a Fear and Loathing Trivia Night on the patio. Test your knowledge of the gonzo renegade – or, at the very least, learn something new about him and toast yourself with a martini. Duck and cover, but don’t miss out. Recommended.
