This Ain’t No Armadillo

Back in May, Croy and The Boys started a lovely, lively lil’ honky-tonk residency at Barracuda  on E. 7th known as This Ain’t No Armadillo, which might remind you of at least a couple of things. One: It’s obviously not the world-renown hot spot defining Austin’s rich musical legacy, fair enough. Two: It does, however, carry the love for, and spirit of, what you’ve heard the Austin Music Minute rant about time and again, which is real country and genuine roots music. That’s at the heart of this residency, no two ways about it.

This past month, local country outfit Them Duqaines have made Barracuda their Tuesday night place, and they wrap up their stay with a set tonight, sharing the bill with a solo performance by Jonathan Terrell (Not In the Face). The evening starts out with dance lessons by Jaime Moreno Two-Step, from 8-9 p.m., followed by the live music.

Swing on by, and do tell ’em the Austin Music Minute maven sent you. Recommended.
