Those Country Bluegrass Nights

Now, kids – remember what the Austin Music Minute has taught you, the important stuff I pound into your brain time and again. You can rock an acoustic show. The proof? The Austin Steamers, a local quartet slinging some mighty solid original and traditional music on guitar, banjo, mandolin and stand-up bass. And there are two key ingredients essential to their live shows:  1.) Finger-picking that often charts off into lightning speeds, and 2.) Plenty of vocal harmonies in those sweet melodies.

The Austin Steamers have a couple of Monday nights remaining in their residency at the Hole In the Wall, 2538 Guadalupe. You can see them perform there tonight, on a fantastic bill: Alpine, TX-based country/bluegrass songwriter Anthony Ray Wright, country/roots-rock songwriter Tex Smith and country/roots artist Devin Jake. Get there early at 8 p.m. Recommended.
