Don’t bother being shy or bored around Amplified Heat. Los hermanos Ortiz – guitarist Jim, bassist Gian and drummer Chris – loudly and proudly take their cue from Motorhead‘s Lemmy when they unleash their attack. The trio cranks their blues-rock up heavy with pulsating psych that’s in your face. Their word: “Menacing,” in the rawest, most ruthless sense possible. You know – rock ‘n’ roll.
Amplified Heat takes over the Meshed Up Monday music series tonight at a spot that’s an Austin Music Minute fave, the Hard Luck Lounge, 3526 E. 7th St. You can see them play at 8 p.m. Prepare for some awesome face-melting that will rid you of any Monday doldrums. Highly recommended.
