If you would be so kind as to allow your heady Austin Music Minute maven to paraphrase a certain Sam Spade line from a 1941 film noir classic: Here’s the stuff…that Nightmares are made of.
Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band is releasing some tunes on cassette tape via Austin-based DIY label, Mas Music Records, and it’s one sumptuous sonic treat, fellow geeks. The tape includes tracks from their 2017 release (and AMM fave) The World Is A Peach Goodbye, and a delectable B side with tracks under the title Last Winter and Beyond.
The big Nolan Potter’s Nightmare Band tape release show is tonight at Barracuda, 611 E. 7th St., and it’s an excellent bill with Marfa-based artist Andy Grant, and Denton tripmeisters Acid Carousel. Doors open at 9 p.m.
Get yer boombox ready. Very recommended.
