Conspirare: Soloists

Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem is a masterpiece, continually growing in popularity. For two show in February, your Austin Symphony Orchestra (ASO) joined the ethereal voices of the Grammy award-winning ensemble, Conspirare Symphonic Choir, and guest soloists soprano Heather Phillips and baritone Paul Tipton. In an attempt to communicate the shared experience of life and death contemplated by all, Brahms successfully has the ability to transform those thoughts into music’s universal language. In admiration of Haydn, Brahms wrote Variations on the St. Antoni Chorale, being performed during the first half of the program and guest conducted by Conspirare’s Founding Artistic Director, Craig Hella Johnson.
