Hear No Evil 2.2.17

Austin may be labeled as the live music capital of the world, but as we’ve learned recently that title doesn’t necessarily extend to all forms of music. Hear No Evil is trying to change that. Made up of an all-star cast of Butler School of Music Alums and Students, the group strives to shake the stigma against contemporary classical music by presenting the music in a more relevant setting. Think less Carnegie Hall, more the North Door, where they’ve played to sold out crowds. This isn’t “Bleep-Fart” music that is hard to listen too and not even that interesting, this is vibrant, dynamic music written by the young up and coming composers of our time. Hear No Evil has made a special effort to commission and perform new works from Austin composers in an effort to encourage the fledgling central Texas contemporary music scene; last season they performed 15 works by local composers. A subset of Hear No Evil stopped by Studio 1A to share some of the music from their upcoming concert, check it out below!
