Publications nationwide have lauded Rick Rowley’s prowess as a pianist. As a world-renowned musician, conductor, and theater director, this Butler School of Music faculty member is constantly reshaping the way he interprets his repertoire. From Liszt to Gershwin and everything in between, Rowley executes each piece with the style and character it deserves. He plays slower pieces tenderly and with great care, while the tinkling high notes of the instrument stand out when he plays faster pieces. He joined us in Studio 1A to play selections from Schumann, Chopin, and other classical masterworks.
