My KUTX: Altamesa

Altamesa is an Austin band born with two songwriters: Evan Charles, who started the project in 2015, and Sean Faires, who originally teamed up with Charles in the boogie-rock band the Happen-Ins. Altamesa’s Idol Frontier–out February 8, with a release show at Cheer-Up Charlies that same night–nods its hat back to the cosmic country of ’70s Austin. That meeting ground between country and rock threads its way through My KUTX this week as Evan and Charles take the guest DJ controls. Hear My KUTX on Saturday, January 12 at 6 p.m. or anytime at the bottom of the page.
