My KUTX: Austin Kleon

Austin Kleon is a New York Times bestselling author based here in Austin. He’s probably best known for Steal Like An Artist, a book about creativity that has a very basic thesis: every artist steals, and that’s what makes great art. Kleon also publishes a weekly newsletter that’s quietly radical in its appreciation of creativity, diving deep into new movies, old comics, and great music. This week on My KUTX, Kleon plays songs and artists from across his life. True to form, it’s the juxtapositions and artistic theft–experimental spinning into synth-pop, punk rock spinning into Motown soul–that makes this such an enjoyable guest DJ set. Tune in Saturday, February 11 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
