My KUTX: Duncan Fellows

Duncan Fellows is the KUTX Artist of the Month for September.

Austin’s Duncan Fellows wrote the bulk of its debut LP, Both Sides Of The Ceiling, in an AC-less house, a proposition that could turn any group into a frothing-at-the-mouth wreck. But the songs are sunny and summery. This is a garage rock band with enough of a pop touch to straddle both scenes here in town.

This week on My KUTX, Colin Harman (guitar/vocals), Cullen Trevino (guitar/vocals), and David Stimson (bass) take over guest DJ duties for an hour of hand-picked music. They cover their love of classic songwriting with picks by Jackson Browne and the Kinks as well as the more experimental sounds of Animal Collective and fellow Austinites Lomelda. Listen to Duncan Fellows’ My KUTX on Saturday, September 16, 6-7 p.m., or anytime at the bottom of the page.
