Take one part Sun Ra, another part ’70s disco-funk, some psychedelic rock, mix it with Austin’s triple digit summers, and you get Golden Dawn Arkestra, this city’s very-own art collective/dance party/quasi-religious experience. Just in time for summer, the band is back with its second album, Children Of The Sun, produced by Austin’s Erik Wofford.
This week on My KUTX, band founder/keyboardist Topaz McGarrigle–who you can also see DJing at his club Sahara Lounge most months–returns as our guest DJ to get the party started.
