Afrobeat has it’s own local ambassador in the form of Hard Proof, a band that makes music as big as its ten-piece roster. The group’s songs are incredibly complex musically, but simple to understand: it’s ass-shaking music.
Hard Proof plays Friday, May 20 at KUTX Live at Mueller, and a few of the band’s members are our guest DJs this week on My KUTX. Joe Woullard (baritone sax), Stephen Bidwell (drums), and Jason Frey (tenor sax) spin an hour of their favorites, from jazz, funk, and punk to a sneak-peak of their upcoming album. Tune in Saturday, May 14 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
