My KUTX: John Fullbright

On June 23, KUTX and the Cactus Cafe welcome a quartet of singer-songwriters to the Hogg Auditorium: John Fullbright, David Ramirez, and Kevin and Dustin Welch. And this week on My KUTX, we’re re-broadcasting Fullbright’s guest DJ set, first recorded in 2015.

Fullbright hails from Okemah, Oklahoma, one-time home to Woody Guthrie, and like Guthrie, Fullbright’s songs are plainspoken, heartfelt, and full of rustic wit. He owes some of that to his mother’s rich record collection, which forms the basis for this wide-ranging and fascinating guest DJ set. Tune in on Saturday, June 10 or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
