My KUTX: Maggie Phillips

Maggie Phillips is a Hollywood music supervisor, meaning she’s the one that gets those awesome songs in your favorite TV shows and movies. The Austin native has worked on shows like The Handmaid’s Tale and Fargo, helping amplify the dramatic tension with selections ranging from Kate Bush to the little-known Yamasuki Singers. She also helped soundtrack the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight, worked with fellow UT alumni Mark and Jay Duplass, and much, much more. This week on My KUTX, Phillips is our guest DJ, playing some of her favorite songs she’s included on soundtracks, plus the ones she’s always wanted to put on the screen. Hear My KUTX on Saturday, 6 to 7 p.m., or listen at any time below.
