Mosaic Sound Collective's Dan Redman

My KUTX // November 14, 2020

Mosaic Sound Collective is a 25,000 square foot campus in East Austin that serves as a rehearsal and recording space for local musicians, but like a lot of the music scene, Mosaic has had to pivot during this pandemic era. Austin prog rockers …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead and the psych-garage band Holy Wave have used Mosaic to livestream concerts. The campus’ soundstage has gotten a workout from Grupo Fantasma, Think No Think, Riders Against The Storm, and more, and Black Pumas have recorded live performances at Mosaic that have appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, Farm Aid, and more. To cap it all off, Austin artist Tim Kerr (formerly of the Big Boys) recently completed a mural that speaks to this enduring idea of musical community and adaptation.

This week on My KUTX, Mosaic’s Dan Redman is our guest DJ. He plays an hour of mostly Austin music, featuring a lot of the artists that are part of the larger Mosaic family. Hear My KUTX on Saturday, November 14 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the top of the page.
