Solstice Fest took over a large chunk of Austin June 15-17, celebrating the summer solstice with a big bill of local and national acts. Pan Am Park, the Mohawk, Empire Control Room, and the Barracuda hosted the likes of Built To Spill, Bright Light Social Hour, Golden Dawn Arkestra, Bayonne, and more. For this edition of My KUTX, fest organizers Matt Ford and Luis Zapata previewed Solstice with an hour-long guest DJ set, chronicling the festival’s humble roots and who they were most looking forward to seeing this year.
