It took the Bright Light Social Hour five years to follow up their debut album, but they have a good excuse. They built their own studio and scrapped a couple different versions of their new album, and all the work was definitely worth it. Space Is Still The Place is one of my favorite local albums of the year so far—it’s somehow able to combine Pink Floyd with the dancefloor.
Bright Light is playing the KUTX Stage at the X Games on Friday, June 5 at 3:30 p.m., and this week on My KUTX, guitarist/singer Curtis Roush and bassist/singer Jack O’Brien are the guest DJs. Tune into their hour-long mix anytime below the playlist.
