Utopia Fest started in 2009 in tiny Utopia, Texas, about 2 ½ hours southwest of Austin. It’s a little music festival on some big land—imagine ACL Fest, but with only 2000 people and no music overlap. This year’s lineup includes Explosions In The Sky, Tune-Yards, Charles Bradley, and more, and it takes place Labor Day weekend, September 4-6. This week on My KUTX, Utopia Fest masterminds Travis Sutherland and Aaron Brown give us a taste of what to expect, some of their favorite memories from past Utopias, and a special guest appearance by the one and only John Aielli.
