Steven Ellison is one of the most influential electronic musicians of the last ten years. As Flying Lotus, he’s released six albums of experimental electronic music with a signature percussive and psychedelic sound. He’s collaborated with Thom Yorke of Radiohead, Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Anderson .Paak, and more.
This week, KUTX’s electronic music host Soundfounder sat down with Flying Lotus to discuss his new album Flamagra, his creative process, why he likes playing in Austin, and how hearing David Lynch read surrealist poetry at a party led to one of his favorite musical collaborations.
