Dr. Joe Vitale [The Great Something] & Porterdavis – 7:00pm @ Townsend
Porterdavis is the beloved award-winning local band of gritty blues. Mike Meadows, Simon Wallace, and Daniel Barrett always please with their unique blend of talents. They mix folk, blues and R&B to create original music that you can’t help but love. Their new album promises to be the best yet, with “tear down the wall” original songs of power and love.
As seen in Rolling Stone magazine, Dr. Joe delivers “self-help rock” in original tunes full of wisdom and passion. He’s been compared to Leonard Cohen and Tom Petty but remains a one-of-a-kind ball of fire. His new album, “The Great Something,” is dedicated to the rock icon Dr Joe studied songwriting with, Melissa Etheridge. His “Band of Legends” include drummer Joe Vitale, bass man Glenn Fukunaga, and lead guitar Daniel Barrett.
The Milligan Vaughan Project – 8:30pm @ One-2-One Bar
It has been said that the sum is always greater than the parts. The parts can be good but together they are exceptional and that holds true in the case of MVP. The Milligan Vaughan Project or MVP is a musical partnership between Austin’s highly acclaimed vocalist Malford Milligan – and – guitar slinger Tyrone Vaughan both of whom have a rich musical history steeped in The Blues and Rock and Roll. MVP releases their debut album before hitting the road for an international tour.

Whiskey Shivers [Some Part of Something] – 8:00pm @ Mohawk
Austin’s Whiskey Shivers are bluegrass-fueled Americana for a generation that grew up listening to punk rock. This group of 20-somethings plays banjos, fiddles and washboards at breakneck speeds while singing high, lonesome harmonies about love and video games.
Sherry [Not Brandy, Not Whiskey] – 9:00pm @ Mohawk
Tremendously expansive sonic landscapes, lush vocal arrangements, and an experimental approach to pop music can now be summarized by one word: Sherry. Formerly know as Caterwaulrus, Sherry is the psychedelic brainchild of Austin native John Michael Sherry. Under the Caterwaulrus name, Sherry released two standalone EPs, a split EP with Austin shoegaze band Costumes, as well as a handful of singles. Now having shed the Caterwaulrus skin, Sherry embraces his new persona defined by a toe tapper’s longing to find comfort in complexity. In one hand, Sherry wields the scepter of the maximalist musician, while the other holds nothing but casual conversations with old friends. Returning from Brooklyn, NY for his first show in Austin since 2015, Sherry has a new band and a new album to share with his hometown!
Sphynx – 9:00pm @ Cheer Up Charlie’s
These Austin, TX natives have been compared to pop icons like Prince and David Bowie and to newer groups like Phoenix and MGMT for good reason. The trio’s vibrant live show has carved it’s own niche in Austin, where they’ve sold out popular venues, charted on pop/alternative stations, and become a fixture of the music scene.
Lexi & The Bleached Roses – 9:30pm @ Sidewinder
The talented Lexi Cardenas, a wonderful violin-loop and instrument extrodinaire, has started a full band called Lexi and the Bleached Roses, and they’re coming out with their first album.
