KUTX at Home: Khruangbin

with Jody Denberg

produced by Deidre Gott with assistance from Jake Perlman

Last time we visited with Khruangbin it was March 2018 in Studio 1A and the three-piece Houston band just released their second album Con Todo El Mundo. Since then we were blessed with a collaboration EP, Texas Sun, with tour mate and fellow Texan Leon Bridges in which the mostly instrumental band provided the music and Bridges came up with the lyrics. The band’s third and latest full length Mordechai is out Friday, June 26 on Dead Oceans.

For KUTX at Home, Jody Denberg caught up with all three members, currently quarantining from their respective homes in Miami (Laura Lee – bass), Oakland, CA (Mark Speer – guitar), and Houston (Donald “DJ” Johnson – drums), to chat about their vintage psychedelic global sounds, the latest album and what has been keeping them busy while tour is on hold
