KUTX invites you to step inside the Bullock Museum for three FREE themed nights celebrating culture, community, and Texas history. The first “Cool Summer Nights” is Friday (6/22) from 6 – 9 p.m. – “Rodeo! The Exhibition”: a salute to rodeos, stock shows and all things western. There’ll be a dancefloor with lessons for the untrained, leather craft, a chili spice making station, and other activities. More info at thestoryoftexas.com.
Cool Summer Nights: Rodeo! – 6/22
Cool Summer Nights will kick off with a salute to rodeos, stock shows, and all things western in celebration of Rodeo! The Exhibition. The Museum’s lobby will become a dance floor complete with lessons for the untrained. Guests can also try their hand at leather craft or create the perfect spice blend to make chili.
Cool Summer Nights: Art – 7/13
Our second Cool Summer Nights highlights the amazing range of visual arts found in Texas in conjunction with the exhibition Comanche Motion: The Art of Eric Tippeconnic. Guests can watch artists create paintings inspired by the Museum’s galleries before their eyes, or try out a variety of visual arts techniques for themselves.
Cool Summer Nights: Music – 8/10
The final Cool Summer Nights will take inspiration from Austin’s thriving music culture and the Museum’s exhibition celebrating the history of Austin City Limits. Guests can pick up a ukulele and experiment, experience contemporary opera or try their hand at song writing.
