FFF Fest 2012: Saturday

Posted by on Nov 4, 2012

Day two of Fun Fun Fun Fest wrapped up with a simultaneous dance party from Girl Talk and hardcore mosh pit with Refused.

Despite talks of possible rain, the festival managed to get through the day completely dry. Strong winds were predicted, so the festival took down some of the stage banners as a precaution.

The beloved taco cannon returned, launching Torchy’s Tacos into the crowd. While daytime comedy, sponsored by the Moontower Comedy Festival, continued on the Yellow Stage with Wyatt Cenac, David Cross and others.

Legendary rapper Daryll “DMC” McDaniels returned for an afternoon solo set, after headlining on Friday with Run-DMC.

Around sunset on Saturday, the Orange Stage took a mellow, indie rock turn with Real Estate and The Head and The Heart. Veteran English post-punk band Public Image Ltd. and frontman Johnny Rotten took over after that, sending a jolt of energy back into the crowd. The band released their first studio album in twenty years, This is PiL, in May of this year.

Austin heavy metal band The Sword had a huge, head banging crowd at the Black Stage.

Hip hop continued to have a big presence on day two of the festival with Kreayshawn, Schoolboy Q, and A$AP Rocky drawing sizable crowds.
