Gary Clark Jr. @ KUT 10/8/12

Gary Clark Jr. is rarity in the Austin music scene in that he was born and raised here, and continues to play music here. He’s played guitar since the age of 12, and got a jump start playing shows around in his early teens. It wasn’t long before he got noticed by Clifford Antone, the owner of Austin blues club Antone’s. Through Antone, he was tutored by some local legends. He’s been called “the savior of blues” on more than one occasion, and that sentiment is not miplaced. Clark’s got a lot of talent, and influences that are as wide as they are deep. His new album, Blak and Blu, will be released on the 22nd, and on Wednesday, he’ll play a show for Waller Creek Conservatory Benefit. In the meantime, we have Gary Clark Jr. playing live on KUT RIGHT HERE!
