Big Bill 6.8.17

Austin punk outfit Big Bill is weird, irreverent and a darn good time. Formed by brothers Eric and Cody Braden in 2011 the band has been through many iterations before arriving at their current four man line-up. Their quirky, vibrant punk has gained them a loyal following and a reputation as a must-see live act. The past six years has seen the expansion of their musical palette, while staying true to their playfully intense roots. In traditional punk style they make music that is punchy and brief; their full length album condenses ten energetic tracks into a digestible twenty-nine minutes. Hilarious songs like “What Do You Want on Your Salad?” lists salad toppings over jangling guitar and crashing symbols. “Pharmacy” has the boys hollering “never admit you’re sick” underpinned by sweet bass and consistent drums. Big Bill brought their New Wave absurdism and raucous energy to Studio 1A ahead of their June residency at Electric Church, check it out below!
