Ian McLagan @ KUTX 6.23.14

After working with names like the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and Bruce Springsteen–to just name a few–Ian  McLagan is no stranger to Rock ‘n’ Roll. His many talents, such as co-writing for Faces and his trademark electric piano or Hammond B-3 organ heard in songs by The Rolling Stones, Rod Stewart and Small Faces, have greatly contributed to music history over his five decade career. After beginning his career in London in 1963, 30 years later ‘Mac’, as he is known best, made his way to Austin where he put together his bump band, consisting of only Austin’s best including guitarist Scrappy Jud Newcomb, bassist Jon Notarthomas, and drummer Conrad Choucroun. Now, Mac continues his legend by releasing a brand new solo album, United States, to be dropped on June 17th with a release party at Waterloo Records on June 24th. Mac will be celebrating his 10th anniversary of playing at The Lucky Lounge the 26th, where you can catch him every thursday.

Make sure not to miss out on an important part of Rock ‘n’ Roll history when Ian McLagan comes into Studio 1A for a live performance to be broadcasted at 7p.m. on Monday.
