Ray Wylie Hubbard @ KUTX 04.11.2015

A legend of progressive country, Ray Wylie Hubbard still has us groovin’ to his mean country-blues.

Hubbard has been exploring the genre of Texas country and infusing it with his signature growl for almost 50 years. Evolving way beyond the cult classic “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother,” Ray Wylie Hubbard has eased into a steady career full of lyrical spirituality and a good dose of rock ‘n’ roll. Hubbard has just released a new album, his 16th studio recording, titled The Ruffian’s Misfortune, which he describes as having “cool guitar tones and vicious nasty licks with lyrics that have a little depth and weight and even a little humor thrown in too, as life is pretty much like that.” This summer Hubbard is also set to publish his autobiography under the title A Life . . . Well, Lived.

Ray Wylie Hubbard will be performing at Old Settlers Music Festival on April 17th and you can stream Ray Wylie Hubbard’s music right here on KUTX.
