My KUTX: 50 Years Of John Aielli

For fifty years, John Aielli has been keeping Austin…eclectic, to say the least. He’s the kind of DJ who will play Sounds of the Rainforest, interview luminaries like Governor Ann Richards or Bea Arthur, and offer pearls of wisdom on the weather or wizard sticks, all in the same show. On Tuesday, March 7, KUTX is honoring his half-century of radio with a celebratory concert. And this week on My KUTX, we’re going meta: Aielli is our guest DJ, picking some of his favorite songs from the past fifty years. Of course, as he so eloquently puts it, “this is kind of a joke. Every song is my favorite song.” Tune in on Saturday, March 4 at 6 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
