My KUTX: Ann Richards School Interns

Our interns from the Ann Richards School each got a chance to guest DJ, making up their own playlists for their own episode of My KUTX. Here are the results!

Gicela Lechuga: I chose these songs because they sound nice and I like these artists in general.

Gicela’s playlist:

Cici Verastegui: I love music that can evoke a feeling of freedom and independence. I picked these songs because they do all of that; they take me to a different place and give me chills whenever I listen to them.  Music like this is my escape, and I wanted to share that feeling with all of you.

Febe Martinez: I chose these songs because they are all about growing up; they really speak to me because soon my friends and I will be going to college and becoming adults. This is something that hasn’t ever really been real to us until now. Adulthood is nearing and starting to sink in, and all of these songs explore that.

Miranda Ward: I chose these songs because they reflect my taste in music and the people mentioned in my playlist have influenced me. My favorite part of being a DJ was being in the studio and getting to record the playlist because I got to experience what real radio people get to experience as a part of their job.

Guinevere Thomas: I chose these songs because they evoke strong memories from my childhood. They are all songs that I heard with my dad, and they bring a sense of nostalgia whenever I hear them. My favorite part of being a DJ was collecting all of these songs and reminiscing about the fun I had with my family.
