Joey Z is an Austin-based comedian who hosts the Glow Show: one part standup comedy, another part psychedelic light show. It happens every third Wednesday at the Ballroom (the next one is on August 18). You can also catch Joey Z headlining the Ballroom on September 1, providing some laughs for the music/comedy event Taylor’d Frequency–hosted by KUTX’s own Taylor Wallace–at the Ballroom on September 5, and featuring in this year’s Moontower Comedy Festival.
This week on My KUTX, Joey returns as our guest DJ. He’s a big music fan who’s especially plugged into the Austin scene, whether it’s working with rapper Mike Melinoe, getting lost in Holy Wave’s psych rock, or waking up to Star Parks’ dreamy pop music.
