Live Favorites From The Cactus Cafe

My KUTX // July 18, 2020

Like many other music venues in town, the Cactus Cafe has been hit hard by the Covid-19 pandemic. Unlike many music venues in town, the Cactus operates as a non-profit – we are funded solely by ticket sales. We do not receive any revenue from the bar, nor do we receive funding from The University of Texas. If you can, please donate here. Thank you!

For over forty years, the Cactus Cafe has been one of the best listening rooms in the country. Countless musicians love performing at the Cactus because of the rapt attention they receive. Countless fans love Cactus shows because they feel like they can be a part of something more intimate than a usual concert experience. A Cactus show is usually off-the-cuff, communal, and instantly memorable.

Matt Muñoz and Amy Chambless have managed the Cactus Cafe for the past decade. This week on My KUTX, they share memories and an hour of favorite songs recorded live at the Cactus. Hear My KUTX on Saturday, July 18 at 6 p.m. or listen in player at the top of the page.
