My KUTX: Sarah Jaffe

Since breaking out of the Denton scene almost a decade ago with a folk-leaning sound, Sarah Jaffe has slowly remade herself as a pop star, but on her own terms. Her songs are both sticky-sweet and dark around the edges, and Bad Baby, her fourth album, is her biggest swing yet. As I mentioned when the record came out, she’s the only artist I know of who’s worked with Cyndi Lauper, Eminem, and Pixar.

Jaffe was also one of our very first guest DJs on My KUTX, and this week, we’re excited to have her back for a new mix. This time around, Jaffe picks a lot of recent music that’s turned her head, showing off her Texas pride in Solange, her love of A Tribe Called Quest, and much more. Tune in Saturday, August 12 at 6-7 p.m. or listen anytime at the bottom of the page.
