My KUTX: Shakey Graves

Singer-songwriter Shakey Graves has been called the best one man show in Austin. While that might sound like a bold claim, it becomes completely believable as soon as you see him play live. Alejandro Rose-Garcia, as he’s known when he’s not on stage, has a certain magnetic performance energy. His stripped down folk grabs the audience and doesn’t let them go. The combination of his voice, his skill on guitar, and the steady beat he keeps with his make-shift suitcase drum make for a very engrossing performance.

When we found out about his mild obsession with creating playlists and mixtapes, we knew we had to get him to play KUTX Guest DJ for an hour. We’re so glad we did, because this eclectic playlist kind of blew our minds. Listen to Shakey Graves’ Guest DJ session RIGHT HERE!
