CAPYAC 5.16.16

Experimental funk, future disco pop, balloonwave, Austin-based group CAPYAC goes by many names, none of which truly capture the duo’s fluid sound. The music is a strong blend of dance club electronic, jazz fusion, and psychedelic soul, with influences from groups like Parliament Funkadelic and The Avalanches.

CAPYAC’s talent extends far beyond their musical abilities. Similar to Austin group Golden Dawn Arkestra, CAPYAC shows are characterized by wild couture costumes and out of this world dance performances. Just last month they could be seen at Empire Control Room for Austin Fashion Week, first showcasing their new fashion line and then closing out the show with a live performance.

CAPYAC came into Studio 1A to play a few tracks from their upcoming album HEADLUNGE, which will debut at their record release party at Historic Scoot In on Friday, May 27th. They’ll also be performing this Sunday, May 22nd at KUTX Live at Uncle Billy’s. Stream their live performance below.
