Singer-songwriter doesn’t begin to cover the work of Chris Smither. After five decades of picking, the folk-blues singer re-recorded some of his greatest for a compilation album titled On the Levee. The work catalogs Smither’s lifelong career which started in his hometown of New Orleans, practicing along with a Lightnin’ Hopkins record. Smither will play an intimate showcase of his talent at the Cactus Cafe to share a few of his lyrically expressive hits. Listen below for his Studio 1A performance.
