The rising Liverpool star, Dan Croll, stopped by our office! The British singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist has gone from a blog favorite to 2014’s ‘One to Watch’ on iTunes, Spotify, Vevo, etc. in a mere few years. His music, a cool blend of folk, electro-beats, psychedelic-pop, and African polyrhythms began turning heads circa 2011 when Croll, an alumnus of the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (founded by Paul McCartney) was awarded ‘Songwriter of the Year’ by the Musicians Benevolent Fund and was picked for a one-on-one sesh with Sir Paul himself. Croll will be joined by his band, John Stark (bass, vocals), Jacob Berry (keys, vocals), Jethro Fox (guitar, vocals), and David Kelly (drums), and giving us a taste up their upcoming album, Sweet Disarray, set for release March 10. Recorded in a vacated school gymnasium and produced by the band and their friends, Dan Croll’s forthcoming album is a beautiful tribute to his Grandma who suffers with dementia. The album speaks to his experiences with her and also, the silver lining in hardship– the closeness it can foster between you the ones you love. Fans of Beirut, Pacific Air, Kings of Convenience, On and On, and Paul Simon are advised to check it out. Check out our sesh with him RIGHT HERE!
