David Ramirez doesn’t pull any punches. His music is a straight-ahead one-two of deeply personal, deeply felt lyrics and gut-wrenching vocals. Add some painfully beautiful arrangements and you’ve got the recipe for one of the best songwriters to come out of Austin in a long time. Like previous works, Ramirez’s newest, We’re Not Going Anywhere, seems to revel in the pain and confusion of a lost love and a lost generation. David Ramirez brought a killer band to Studio 1A to help play some songs from the new record for a live studio audience. You can listen to that session in the player at the bottom of this post. Enjoy!
