Hal Ketchum @ KUTX 11.7.14

After five years of inactivity, Hal Ketchum has made his triumphant return to the music business.

Having called the Live Music Capital his home for just under ten years in the 1980s, Ketchum moved to Nashville in 1991 to release his major label debut, Past the Point of Rescue, a certified gold album that reached #6 on the US Country Charts and #2 on the US Heat Charts. After enduring the crippling effects of multiple sclerosis for ten years, Ketchum was ready to put an end to his successful career after the release of 2008’s Father Time.

But Ketchum’s musical ambitions could not be curbed, apparent in the release of his eleventh album I’m the Troubadour in October 2014. The album showcases Ketchum’s talents in a series of single takes, with a sound inspired by years of struggle and a desire to get back into the groove of songwriting. The result is a departure from Ketchum’s typical country sound and a breathtaking embrace of folk, blues, and soul. You can catch Hal Ketchum’s next performance on Friday, November 7th at The Roost!
