Iron & Wine 7.21.17

Iron & Wine has been making indie folk sweet as wine and strong as iron for over a decade. The musical moniker of South Carolina born Sam Beam, came from a dietary supplement called “Beef Iron & Wine”. With five albums already under his belt, his latest release Beast Epic is his most sonically, and emotionally, mature work to date. Iron & Wine’s first album of new material in over four years, the record is a carefully curated examination of life’s rites of passage. While his earlier music looked through youthful eyes at adulthood’s pleasures and pains; Beast Epic is the story of a man growing up after having already grown. Characteristically cinematic the album is heavy with plucking guitar, textured sounds and Beam’s intimate vocals. Iron & Wine brought his deft lyricism and gentle melodies to Studio 1A. Missed the session? We’ve got you covered right here. Check it out below!
