Straight from Beaumont, Texas, Kevin Russell (formerly of The Gourds) is on the road again with his side gig, Shinyribs. His solo travels have transformed into a full time show, and his last record Gulf Coast Museum recieved love from a number of critics. The new alt/Americana tracks Russell delivers aren’t just repurposed Gourds tracks, they are fresh and innovative. And of course, as Texas as ever. You’ll find Shinyribs tracks on soundcloud and Russell stays active on twitter, where he describes himself as a “psycholiteranaut w/8 AA batteries-tweed facade-equal parts Waylon Jennings, Robert Rauschenberg and Harvey Korman.”
