Known for their packed live shows, local band South Austin Moonlighters (SAM) navigate the rough-edged waters of rock, country, blues, and Americana.
Initially coming together as a side-project featuring members from Austin bands Mother Truckers, Deadman, Stonehoney, and Monte Montgomery, SAM have since released two albums of laid back old-school tunes. With a tight and consistently groovin’ rhythm section, two boisterous lead guitars, and vocals delivered by each band member, the band consistently displays solid musicianship, while fully embracing the fun and soul intrinsic to the genres they explore. The band’s latest release was 2014’s Burn & Shine.
