The Deer @ KUTX 12.10.14

The Deer plan on starting off 2015 right with a brand new record.

Since founding in 2011, the Austin-based avant folk quartet has shared the stage with local favorites like Dana Falconberry, Alejandro Escovedo, The Head & the Heart, The Lumineers, MilkDrive, and Roger Sellers. After the release of their debut album An Argument For Observation (2012), the band lost backup singer Stephanie Bledsoe in a tragic accident. This tragedy caused a reform in the group, who changed their name from “Grace Park & The Deer” to “The Deer” and began to compose their music collectively, rather than only perform songs written by lead singer Grace Park.

With the group rebranded, The Deer have been promoting their sophomore album On the Essence of the Indomitable Spirit, due for release January 1st, 2015. You can catch Grace Park and the Deer on Friday, December 12th at Spiderhouse!
