The Savage Poor 7.26.17

Austin alternative rock band The Savage Poor are fresh on the scene and quickly gaining momentum. Lead by Shinyribs bassist Jeff Brown and his brother Ben Brown the group is inspired by the passion and possibilities of rock n’ roll, the subversive idealism of British punk and the cinematic soundscapes of 80s indie. Their sound is a vibrant, alternative rock that won’t be silenced. Their debut album, The Grown Ups, is an unflinching look at modern American life; the effects of capitalism, consumerism and environmental decay. However the message is poetic, not preachy. They walk the line between highly political and deeply personal and manage to create tracks both humorous and haunting. The group came past Studio 1A to preview some of their favorite songs. Check out the full session below!
