Understatement of the year: Aaron Behrens is a showman. With Ghostland Observatory, he’s a dance-rock preacher, able to convert huge festival crowds with his manic motions. Last year, Behrens debuted his roots-rock side with his new band the Midnight Stroll, taking inspiration from Pasty Cline’s “Walkin’ After Midnight.” He recently stopped by Studio 1A with the group to debut a few new songs, which definitely head even further into rock territory. Behrens’ My KUTX from last year gives you a hint where his musical mind is coming from: Queen’s theatricality, Morphine’s heaviness, and some punk rock fire. Download “Losing My Mind” below, and if you’re up for the drive, catch the band out in Marfa this Saturday as a part of the Viva Big Bend Music Festival.
