Bond Twins: “Oh, Home”

The name’s Bond…and…Bond. The Bond Twins – Brendan Bond and Andrew Bond – both enjoyed their own independent musical endeavors before deciding to bridge talents. Brendan made a name for himself in town performing with Golden Dawn Arkestra, A. Sinclair and Matthew Logan Vasquez while Andrew staked his claim in Brooklyn with the group Friends. Following the dismantling of Friends and Andrew’s subsequent relocation to Austin, the identical twins were physically reunited through a mutual interest in one another’s individual songwriting.

Now – despite all the mismatched years and miles apart – Bond Twins are about to unfurl the fruits of their reinvigorated and undeniably strengthened bond with the duo’s debut EP, Just Kids. The four songs offer genuine sonic insight into the Bond’s shared sensibilities and collaborative composition style as well as their technical and lyrical proficiency, particularly the final languishing piece, “Oh, Home”.

Bond Twins’ EP release show is this Thursday at the Mohawk along with Magic Rockers of Texas, Slomo Drags & Lola Tried! You can also listen to them here on KUTX.

– Jack Anderson (Monday-Wednesday 8-11pm, Saturday 6-10m)
