Like Fleetwood Mac, Les Hay Babies have a way of modernizing folk music and lending it a dark, raucous edge. The trio hails from three different villages in New Brunswick, Canada, close to the States but far enough away to allow them to develop their own sound. Individually, Julie Aubé, Katrine Noël, and Vivianne Roy all won awards for their solo work, and since teaming up in 2011, Les Hay Babies keep racking up accolades. They recently wound through Texas for Utopia Fest and stopped by Studio 1A for a live set. Even en Francais, “Bonnie & Clyde” is an endorphin rush of a song, keeping momentum thanks to Les Hay Babies’ unbelievable harmonies. Download the song below.
