Max Frost exploded out of Austin in 2013 thanks to his standout single “White Lies.” His debut EP, Low High Low, showed off the former UT student’s gift of combining hip-hop, pop, and blues, and its success has resulted in tours with fellow Austinite Gary Clark, Jr. and Fitz & The Tantrums.
Frost recently returned with a new EP called Intoxication and it picks right where he left off. The hooks are bigger and brighter this time, but there’s still that undercurrent of darkness, like in the love-as-a-drug standout “Withdrawal.” Listen below.
